"make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodnes, knowledge; and to knowledge, virtue..." -- 2 Peter 1:5, NIV
HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!
This is it!!! I am back for my second year at Peninsula Catholic and so excited to be here again! First, a little about me...I grew up in Northern Virginia, Arlington to be exact. I earned my B.S. in Biology from Mary Washington College and an M.Ed. from James Madison University. I got my teaching license through the Career Switchers program of the Va. Dept. of Education. I have three great kids (all boys) and my husband is a football coach at Christopher Newport. In my spare time, I love being out on our boat - fishing or skiing; scrapbooking; sewing; or watching football.
Now, about teaching. I absolutely LOVE the P.C.H.S. "family" and the students here are awesome. I have never had a job I enjoyed so much. I firmly believe in the power of hands on learning and my class tends to be a pretty lively place. I am excited to explore the world around us (big and small) with you this year!

YOUR TRASH...MY TREASURE
There are a few items I can always use more of around the classroom. They are not expensive, in fact most are things you might be throwing away anyway. DON'T!!! Send them into me, please. Thanks in advance!
sand samples from anywhere you travel (film canister size) labeled with location
small clear jars - medicine bottle-ish size
old towels
small pen lights, flash lights, book lights, laser pointers (like freebies at trade shows)
thin magnets (like business card fridge magnets)
clear plastic critter tanks (like hermit crab tanks, with or without lids)
empty drywall buckets
sticky notepads - with writing is fine, like drug rep to doctor notepads
#6 plastic packages...it's the kind that grocery store salad bars use

WARM UP INFO
Remember, every class will begin with a Warm Up question. Monday through Thursday they will be science related, usually either to the content we covered the day before or to what we are doing that day. However, Friday is "Fair Game Friday" and any topic outside science is fair game. I'm always looking for new questions...if you have one you think I should add to the list, send me a message on the form above and I'll stick it in my folder to possibly use in the future. Thanks for sharing!
